Brighter, wider, safer

The newly renovated exit and entrance to the Altstadtgarage A car park at the Bürgerspital was recently reopened after a short renovation period. Further refurbishment and modernisation measures will also follow in 2025.

The new corridor at the Bürgerspital has been presented in a new light since November 2024, making it wider and safer. An innovative lighting concept with a media channel at the top of the vault and floor lighting as a guiding device ensures a bright and aesthetic atmosphere. In addition, the corridor has been equipped with Wi-Fi to enable contemporary display of advertising spaces and offer visitors improved access to digital information.

In 2025, other entrances to the Altstadtgarage will be upgraded along the same lines and will soon shine in a new light. Between 10 February and probably 28 May, the pedestrian exit of car park A towards Neutor – Herbert von Karajan Platz will be renovated and therefore closed from 7 February. The Bürgerspital and Mönchsberg lift exits will be available. For the period of the Easter Festival (12 April – 21 April), the Neutor – Herbert von Karajan Platz exit will be available for car park users.

Salzburger Parkgaragen Gesellschaft (SPG) is investing over EUR 1.9 million in 2025 to renovate the entrances and build 20 e-charging stations and many other optimisations. In 2024, various refurbishment projects were implemented, such as the main electrical distribution board, the renewal of the video surveillance system, the refurbishment of the Bürgerspital, the renewal of the CO system and the finalisation of the switch to LED lighting in the station car park.
